About me

I was born and raised in Northern (Superior) Wisconsin about 80 miles from the Canadian border; and, yes it gets very cold there! At the young age of 32 I began to feel called into ministry. One night at a church dinner, my wife Judy and I sat at a table next to our district superintendent. In the course of our conversation, he said that he had a small church that needed someone to supply the pulpit until he could appoint a new pastor. My pastor suggested that maybe I could do that. I agreed, and two Sundays later, my wife and I drove to that small rural church. Little did we know that I would fill the pulpit in that church for thirteen years!

I have now been in the ministry for 35 years after also serving churches in Virginia and Maryland. I am currently retired...well, sort of. In my retirement, I am now serving as part-time Pastor of First Evangelical Covenant Church in Superior Wi. I began writing books about seven years ago, and still enjoy speaking and teaching when I can. My wife Judy passed away in 2021and I have since remarried to My wife Crystal.

I have a deep desire to help people grow in their faith and knowledge of God’s Word. My books are what I call a “Quest for Discipleship”. As I said, I am a published author and I have nineteen books which include my latest called "Tell Me, Show Me, Fill Me, Change Me"; "In It For Life"; “By His Hand”; “Show and Tell”; “The Promised Gift”; “Jars of Clay”; “The Kingdom of God”; “From the Pastor’s Desk”; “More From the Pastor’s Desk”; "T.E.A.M."; "Let Earth Receive Her King"; "Therefore" "Principles from Proverbs"; "God's Top ten"; "Prayer Changes Things", "5 R's of Revelation" and two "Renewed Faith" 90 day devotionals all by Life Ministries Publishing.

We are still mining nuggets from -
Ephesians 1:3-14; “In love he predestined us for adoption to son-ship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.”
Here are some other related scriptures;
Romans 8:29
"For those God foreknew- (which is all of us) - he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters."
Romans 8:30
"And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified."
Ephesians 1:11
"In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,"
Psalm 33:12
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance."

    These verses tell us that we were not only chosen before the creation, but we were also “predestined” to be “conformed to the image of His Son,” and to be “adopted to sonship” through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will…” This is not to say that we then have no say in the process, or that some are “predestined” to die in their sins, because “free will” is also part of God’s plan. We have the free will to accept or reject the will, plan, and purpose of God. However, “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)
Romans 8:17- “Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ”… who loved us and said “You did not choose me, but I chose you” add to this 8:39 “there is nothing in all of creation that can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus.”
    I have had the privilege of being a part of an adoption involving a family in one of my churches, and these were my words (an analogy of scripture);
“In His great foreknowledge and love, I believe God predestined for Katelyn and Joe to be adopted by Jennie and Tom, in accordance with His good pleasure and will.  So, Now, from this moment on, in accordance with the State of Virginia and God himself, _____ and _____ are children and heirs of _______ and ______. Just as Jesus said that we did not choose him but he chose us, these children did not choose _____ and ____ as parents, but _____ and ____ chose them…and they have become a family. Because they are now a family, there shall be nothing in all of creation that can separate their love for one another nor God’s love for each of them, in Christ Jesus, Amen.”

    If you are a born again Christian, you have been adopted into God’s family; my question then is; Are you enjoying your inheritance? Do you realize that you are truly blessed because you are a child of El Elyon… the Most High God! No matter what your circumstances, you can determine to have peace, joy, and love because you are chosen, and predestined to be His before the creation of the world! WOW! This is amazing! You are Blessed!
